Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 18, 2026

Welcome to GMA on the Go. This page explains what information we collect, how it’s used, and the choices you have. We try to keep things short and human — the way a small-town grandma would.

Who we are

This site is operated by the author of GMA on the Go. Our website address is https://gmaonthego.blog. If you need to reach us, the contact form on the homepage is the easiest way.

What we collect and why

When you contact us

If you fill out the contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit. We use this only to reply to you. We don’t sell or rent contact info to anyone.

When you leave a comment

If commenting is enabled and you leave a comment, WordPress stores the name, email, and (optionally) website you provide, along with your comment and the IP address of the device you used. This helps with spam detection. Your email is not displayed publicly; your name and comment are.

If you have a Gravatar profile associated with your email address, an anonymized version of your address (a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service so your profile picture shows next to your comment. See the Automattic / Gravatar privacy policy for details.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites use to remember little things about your visit. We use them for a few normal-website reasons:

  • To remember your name/email if you leave a comment, so you don’t have to type them again.
  • To help us understand which posts and pages are popular (see Analytics below).
  • If you log in as a site administrator, to keep you signed in.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings anytime. If you do, some convenience features (like remembered comment info) won’t work.

Analytics

We use website analytics to see things like how many people visit, which posts get read, and roughly where readers are coming from. Analytics tools collect aggregated information (page views, referrer, browser type, general location) and do not personally identify you to us. We don’t use this data to track individuals across other websites.

Embedded content from other sites

Posts on this site may include embedded content (videos, images, maps, social media posts, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited that site directly — those sites may collect data about you, set their own cookies, or use third-party tracking. We don’t control that and encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Affiliate and outbound links

Some links on this site (for example, links to the book on Amazon) may be affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only link to things we actually use or recommend, and our opinions are our own.

Who we share information with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help run this blog — things like our website host, email service, analytics provider, and spam-filtering service — and only the minimum they need to do their job. We may also share information if required by law (for example, in response to a valid legal request).

How long we keep information

Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically. Contact-form submissions are kept as long as we need them to respond and follow up. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, send us a message through the contact form. We’ll respond as quickly as we reasonably can.

Children’s privacy

This blog is written for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we’ll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update this page and refresh the effective date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Contact

Questions, requests, or just want to say hello? Use the contact form on the homepage and we’ll get back to you.
