HONEST TRAVEL STORIES, TOLD BY GMA
Hi, I’m GMA. A small-town grandma with a stamped-up passport. No tour buses, no guides — I plan the trips myself, and I write about every detour, every meal, and every kind stranger I meet along the way.

— RULE #1, ACCORDING TO GMA
HI. I'M DONNA.
my grandkids call me Gma.
A SMALL-TOWN GIRL
with a full passport.
I'm Donna — my grandkids call me Gma. I'm a small-town grandma who decided, somewhere along the way, that I wanted to see more of the world than just my own zip code.
So I started planning my own trips. No tour buses, no guides, no pre-packaged itineraries — just me, a stack of guidebooks, and a notebook full of half-formed plans. I've been to Italy, England, Scotland, and France (and a handful of other places in between), and I've written it all down.
This blog is where I keep the stories. The book is where I keep the playbook.

Gma On the Go! — come along as I travel to Italy, England, Scotland, France, and a handful of other places in between. No guide, no tour, just a small-town grandma figuring it out as she goes.
It’s the whole playbook — where I stayed, why I picked it, what I packed, and the little tips I picked up along the way. Read it for ideas, or use it to plan your own trip.
FOUR COUNTRIES IN the book
Italy
Tuscany, Rome, the trip that started it all.
England
London, the countryside, every cup of tea.
Scotland
Edinburgh, the highlands, and surprises.
France
Paris with Taunya, and so much pastry.
